Wine barrel maturation continues to divide whisky lovers; some love the innovation, whilst others don't believe it is a particulalry great match. Longrow does this marriage as well as anyone and each release continues to get rave reviews. Rumours are abound that these will not continue for much longer though. Four years in Bourbon barrels was followed by three years in fresh Pinot Noir barrels from the family-owned estate of Domaine Florent Garaudet in the village of Monthelie in Burgundy. As ever this release is very limited (10,000 bottles were produced).
