Lagavulin Distillery was officially founded in 1816 and lies between Ardbeg and Laphroaig distilleries on the Southern Islay Coastline. Often referred to as a 'gateway to peated whisky', Lagavulin offers the raw and feisty peat that Islay is famous for, but also in their older expressions, a more elegant and sophisticated Single Malt with the excellent usage of small amounts of Sherry casks to add to their preferred Bourbon cask maturation.
