Although the 16 Year old is for many a 'gateway'to Peated whisky, it is their 12 Year Old annual expressions that are often the most anticipated, Lagavulin's annual 'vintage' releases are reason enough for many to revisit this distillery. The 12 Year old represents a departure from its more heavy handed, sherry-influenced sibling, being exclusively American oak matured and bottled at natural strength. The 2014 release scored a whopping (for him) score by Serge Valentin, high praise indeed.  Actual product pictured.
