Detente is a Single Blended Rum (Blend of Traditional Column and Pot Still) aged for 10 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Port casks. The 14th release (Mark XIV) for the Exceptional Cask Selection series, Detente is just that- an exceptional rum that reveals lots of complexity if you let it open up for 10 minutes or so at room temperature. The ex-Port cask influence is wonderful and at 51% ABV it is amazingly easy to sip on.
